Second of this seasons Winter League took us to Blundells Farm, Rixton.
Today saw 18 of our hardiest members turn out in what were good conditions with a light breeze and an air temperature of 12°C.
A couple of our members managed to attack the flora around the pool, ie Bill O'Keefe and John Bryan, however no lasting damage was caused to either the vegetation or the members tackle!
Both Oak and Willow are one pool divided by a bridge, it was noticeable that the greater weights and any Carp caught was on the pegs in Oak pool, Willow saw mainly Silverfish making the weights up.
At least everyone caught at todays match, some more than others obviously. The weather stayed kind with only a little light rain coming in towards the end. Favourite baits today seemed to be Maggot and Pellet.
The Golden Peg has returned to normal. Today the unlucky recipient was Paul Roby who managed to net 1lb 7oz which achieved 15th place.
Biggest fish this season was improved upon today by Tom Prescott who hauled in a 9lb 6oz Carp, this was a bonus for Tom as up until 30 minutes before the end of the match he only had one other fish weighing in at one ounce. This 9lb 6oz Carp pushed Tom up into 4th place in the match. Nice one Tom!
We also had a brief interlude at the end of the match to celebrate Taffy Robinson's forthcoming wedding which takes place on Monday (29th October). Best wishes from all at POHAS for the big day. Enjoy your bottle of Bollinger!
The third match in this year's Winter League takes place on Saturday 17th November at Partridge Lakes, so we hope to see you there....
